Sailing
Fantastic to see that the racing is gaining popularity with 8 yachts competing in very low-key fashion last Saturday. Congratulations to Spindrift and crew for being first over the line in a very close finish. If you have a yacht and haven’t used it for a while now is the perfect time to give it a run. We’re always ready to help any member so all you need to do is ask. Also, if you want to come on as a crew member, we’d love to hear from you as well. Get in touch with Rear Commodore Marcus Bond on 0428 725 675 these details are also in the Quarterly magazine.

Board Games
One of our active members is seeking expressions of interest from anyone who would like to participate in board games at the clubhouse on Sundays during the winter months. It would be wonderful to see the clubhouse being used by members, family and friends enjoying themselves in a cosy and warm area with a fantastic outlook. For further information please ring Dorothy Koole on 0402 256 281. Keep in mind that like many of us she does not answer unknown numbers so please text or leave a voice message.

Marina Repairs
The Marina Subcommittee chaired by Vice Commodore Bob Sterling is working hard in progressing the upgrade of the south and middle arms of the Marina. It is a mammoth task and planning is well under way with further visits to other sites and meetings with professionals and contractors anticipated to commence shortly. All members will be kept up to date with major developments as they occur through newsletters and other means of communication.

Happy Hour
As I write this the members’ draw is now $250. With 2 chances to win every week and as many of our members join the mass exodus north to warmer climates, much better odds for those of us who stay behind. So, make the effort and brave the cold, you must be there to win!

In more important news we now have a new supporter. Jeff Griffiths, one of our esteemed members, has come on board to provide a voucher for petrol each fortnight to be raffled along with our other generous supporters. The $50 vouchers can be used at any Endeavour Petroleum fuel stations, nearest to us being the BP in Cowes or Endeavour Petroleum in Grantville. Many thanks to Jeff.

Social Subcommittee
Upcoming Happy Hour Special on Saturday 29th June has now changed from being a Soup night to a Hot Dog night, this will now be free of charge to all in attendance. Also, NYS Movie Nights for June and July have been cancelled due to the winter cold weather and a lot of members heading north. The Social Subcommittee will be in touch regarding the August movie night closer to the date.

Loyal Supporters
We thank our loyal supporters who continue to give us solid support at our Saturday nights Happy Hour. They are San Remo Butchers, San Remo Hotel, Saltwater Restaurant, Bendigo Community Bank and now Endeavour Petroleum. They support us so in return I ask that you support them at every opportunity. Thank you again.

Volunteers
You will have noticed how well the gardens surrounding the clubhouse are looking. Be aware that we don’t employ gardeners and it doesn’t happen by accident, so next time you see Jackie Murray, Yvonne Brown, Marianne and Peter Watson or Lisa Webster, please make yourself known and thank them for their efforts even if they say there is no need.

Annual Subs Due
It’s that time of year again so commencing this week keep a lookout for your yearly NYS annual subscription invoice for the 2024-2025 year. They will be emailed and posted before the end of the week.
